Miss Carrie has been working with children for over twenty-seven years. Her experience has granted her the immense privilege of working with a diverse group of children from an array of different backgrounds. As a teacher, she has been employed by several organizations and schools.
Some of these schools include Furgeson Elementary School in Hawaiian Gardens, Burbank Elementary School in Artesia, Fedde International Studies Academy in Hawaiian Gardens, Minnie Gant Elementary School in Long Beach, Stephens Middle School in Long Beach, and St. Hedwig School in Los Alamitos. She has additionally worked with a variety of non-profit organizations that provide educational, athletic, social, and musical services to children and adults. Some of these organizations include CampFire USA, Long Beach Parks and Recreation, Disabled Student Services at CSULB, Reading to Kids, the Long Beach Rescue Mission, and Music To Go.
Miss Carrie has additionally spent much of her professional career with the younger learner.
The early childhood centers she has enjoyed being a part of include SR Daycare in Costa Mesa, Williams Family Daycare in Long Beach, the Child and Family Center at California State University, Long Beach, WonderKids Playschool in West Hollywood, and the Isabel Patterson Child Development Center in Long Beach.
She holds three Bachelor’s degrees from California State University, Long Beach, in Child Development and Instrumental Music, and Psychology. In addition to this, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from University of the Pacific.
She has also taken extensive courses in early music education, and is proficient in the Kodaly, Orff, and Dalcroze music pedagogies.
